This is an interdisciplinary open-source project with the goal of providing resources, sharing relevant job opportunities, and building community. Our work strives to disrupt systems of oppression with science, technology and engineering concepts. We believe that it is our responsibility to make a positive social impact with our work and create an accessible space for learning.

We are a small organization that relies on our community, here are the people who started this project.

Dom Maderal

Founder

Dom (she/they) started an Independent Study at University of Wisconsin – Madison during their M.S. in Human Factors and Health Systems engineering program (2022). This project resulted in the curriculum that launched Engineering Social Impact. She is passionate about social justice facilitation and open access to academic resources.

Dr. Hannah Silber

Founder

Dr. Hannah Silber is an associate lecturer at University of Wisconsin – Madison. She currently specializes in Human Factors Engineering and has a Ph. D. from University of Wisconsin – Madison with a focus on Civil Engineering and Transportation. Over the last 3 years she has built and updated multiple classes to include social justice concepts.
